Earth Big Data Science Engineering and Its Application

"The era of big data in science and technology has arrived. What should the science and technology community do?" At the beginning of the lecture, Academician Guo Huadong threw a question to the audience. He believes that big data is at least a methodology of scientific innovation, which can directly read some scientific discoveries of scientists through big data.
In 2018, the Class A strategic pilot science and technology project "CASEarth" of China Academy of Sciences, led by Academician Guo Huadong, was launched. In the same year, Academician Guo Huadong promoted the publication of Big Earth Data, the first big data publication in the international earth science field, and served as the editor-in-chief, which became the strategic cornerstone for promoting the construction of big data.
Guo Huadong believes that "science and technology and economy are combined". He introduced that the "Digital Silk Road" international science plan initiated by China scientists has attracted 58 international organizations and plans to participate, and nine international working groups and eight international organizing committees have been established. China scientists are building a community of human destiny through concrete actions.
He believes that the era of big data has arrived, and he is a remote sensing background, but he can’t "just stare at remote sensing". He needs to integrate navigation data, ground survey data, social unified data and other aspects to form a big data cloud service platform. Guo Huadong introduced that on the basis of big data, there are further physical big data and earth big data. Earth big data itself speaks the first two sentences, which depicts big data with a new methodology and a brand-new model. Knowing the earth is a new engine and a new means, because it is also a massive, diverse and highly integrated feature.
"A month later, the United Nations General Assembly will open. We hope that scientific and technological innovation will play a huge role in the sustainable development agenda of the United Nations in the next decade. We also hope that scientific innovation and earth big data can also play a unique and irreplaceable role in the sustainable development of China." Guo Huadong said.
Intelligent chemical product engineering and its development trend

Peng Xiaojun introduced that smart chemicals belong to high-end fine chemicals. From the industrial chain of chemical products, we can see that fine chemicals not only have very high technical content, but also have very high added value. More importantly, they play an inestimable role in national economic and social development and national defense construction, so they are the commanding heights for domestic and international competition. "In developed countries, fine chemicals account for more than 60%-90% of the total chemical products. Compared with developed countries in the world, our country still has a relatively large room for development."
In Peng Xiaojun’s view, to achieve a great leap forward is to develop intelligent chemical products, which involves two scientific problems, the first is how to create new substances, and the second is how to make new substances. "China is a big manufacturing country. It is our strength to reduce the cost of products that have been used on a large scale, but our work is not enough in how to design and create a new chemical product, so we must start from the source. "The next 5-10 years will be a very good opportunity for the chemical industry to be intelligent." Peng Xiaojun pointed out that when people talk about chemical industry, they will think that there are safety and environmental problems, but the safety problems can be solved through automation. "Because many safety problems are not the problems of chemical industry itself, but human problems, and if they are fully automated, this problem can be solved. On the other hand, we can miniaturize and make a bag-like factory, which is a huge development trend. "
Peng Xiaojun introduced the development prospect of chemical industry intellectualization in detail through the example of dye product intellectualization he was engaged in. "From the development of dyes to many fields, it is an intelligent and functional process. The key to making dyes intelligent is the intelligent design of molecules. The characteristic of dyes is that they have color. Because color absorbs light, according to the point of view of quantum mechanics, it is the transition of electrons, which can do work in different ways and produce chemical reactions of heat, light and electricity." Peng Xiaojun further pointed out that in the field of biomedical detection, a dye can be designed to help doctors identify the boundary of tumors during the early diagnosis and operation of tumors. Viruses, bacteria or tumors themselves have no color at the cellular and molecular levels, but they will produce color through the indication and marking of dyes. "In this way, there is a characteristic enzyme in our tumor with many inhibitors. We will take it and connect it with dyes to form a targeted probe. When it meets it, it will fluoresce, which distinguishes the tumor from normal cells."
In the keynote speech, Peng Xiaojun introduced the connotation, existing problems and development trend of intelligent chemical engineering products through some examples. He hoped that the research of himself and his research group could provide some enlightenment for the future development.
International and domestic double circulation and the development of Shandong Province

Xiao Jincheng believes that the Sino-US trade war and the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic have had a great impact on the international economy and China’s domestic economy. "The impact of the epidemic has stopped the production lines in many countries, and many of our enterprises need to rely on foreign parts for their products. Xiao Jincheng further pointed out that although we soon got out of the haze of the epidemic, foreign products could not be supplied, and domestic production would be greatly affected. This is to build a domestic supply chain and repair an international supply chain.
At the same time, in the keynote report, Xiao Jincheng also focused on how Shandong can seize the opportunity of double circulation and promote the development of the province. He introduced that Shandong Province, with an area of over 150,000 square kilometers and a population of about 100 million, is both a populous province and an economic province. According to the data, in 2019, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Shandong Province was 7,106.75 billion yuan, ranking third in the country. "We know that Shandong has many advantages. It is the largest peninsula in China, with the Yangtze River Delta region in the south and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region in the north. The coastline is 3,345 kilometers, accounting for about one-sixth of the country."
In view of how to seize the opportunity of double circulation and establish a modern regional economic development system in Shandong, Xiao Jincheng put forward three suggestions: grasping scientific and technological innovation and coordinating land and sea; building a modern metropolitan area; and promoting regional cooperation. In his view, to promote the integration of science and technology economy, the first is the integration of production and city, urban and rural areas and industries, and to promote enterprises to increase investment in research and development and give full play to the role of scientific and technological talents.
