SAIC-GM, which has just undergone a major adjustment, has shown the momentum of breaking down the boat, using a round-by-round price system to reshape its attacks in the joint venture market.
First on September 14th, the pre-sale was officially opened, and the limited-time price was 279,900 yuan to 339,900 yuan, which was 120,000 yuan lower than the guide price. On September 24th, Buick also officially "made a move" to launch the "Golden Autumn Limited Price" for the new generation of Buick Plus, priced at 169,900 yuan to 199,900 yuan, 60,000 yuan lower than the guide price. If you count the replacement subsidy of up to 25,000 yuan, you can get this car for less than 150,000 yuan.
In the past 10 years since entering China, Envision has been one of the benchmark products in the market segment. It has received nearly 1.70 million user support and has maintained a good level of quality and experience. For the new generation of Buick Envision Plus, Buick officially used "10% more leapfrog strength" to describe the new car’s all-round upgrade.
In Buick’s opinion, the new car replacement cannot be a "facelift". At the same time, in terms of comfort, the new car adopts the seat technology that is in the same vein as the GL8. The seat frame is developed based on the luxury car platform, and it is covered with high-grade leather made through 38 processes. The seat cushion and backrest are made of double-hardness foam technology to provide better wrapping and support. A 3D mesh composite layer is used between the seat surface and the foam to improve surface support, wrinkle resistance, and durability and air permeability.
In terms of power, the new car comes standard with the eighth-generation Ecotec 2.0T variable-cylinder turbocharged engine, 9-speed HYDRA-MATIC intelligent transmission power combination, and the whole system is equipped with 48V light mixing system. The maximum power of the 2.0T engine reaches 174kW and the maximum torque is 350 Nm. Among them, the four-wheel drive version is also equipped with a disconnect function, which takes into account fuel consumption and can enjoy the driving experience brought by four-wheel drive.
In terms of intelligence, although many people still have the stereotype of "unintelligent" fuel vehicles, it turns out that the current fuel vehicles are also gradually developing towards intelligence. In terms of safety and quality, the new car adopts a six-ring and six-cage body structure, with high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel applications accounting for 78% of the total vehicle. Thermoformed steel with a yield strength of 1500 MPa is used in key parts, and ultra-thick double front collision beams are upgraded.
It can be seen that in terms of product strength, the new generation of Buick Envision Plus is an outstanding one among fuel vehicles of the same class, and most of the configurations have also achieved the standard of the whole series. At the recent launch of the 2 million vehicle of the SAIC-GM Buick brand GL8 family, SAIC-GM General Manager Lu Xiao announced SAIC-GM’s future goal – to fully sound the horn of counterattack in 2025.
This sentence is really not "futures". SAIC-GM’s counterattack is already underway. In May this year, the GL8 PHEV model was officially launched. After the new car was launched, sales rose rapidly. According to Xue Haitao, deputy general manager of SAIC-GM, the GL8 PHEV is still in short supply, and orders on hand have exceeded 30,000 units. The Cadillac XT5, which started pre-sale some time ago, also received 3,371 large orders on the first day.
SAIC-GM’s counterattack, on the one hand, is product upgrades. In Lu Xiao’s view, technology is like a "weapon", and SAIC-GM’s "arsenal" is very rich. According to reports, next year, the new products released by the Buick brand next year will cover plug-in, range extension and pure electricity, and will also launch 800 volts, super fast charging and other technologies.
On the other hand, a more attractive price is also the key. According to Xue Haitao, the Cadillac XT5 was originally planned to be officially launched at the Chengdu Auto Show in August, but felt that the preparation was still not enough, so it was pushed to September 28. During this time, SAIC General Motors launched the concept of "luxury car one price", giving a one-step price, which is the first time in a luxury brand. From the effect point of view, the number of orders can already explain everything.
For next year’s goals, Lu Xiao said that first of all, SAIC-GM’s operating business should return to normal, wholesale volume should return to normal, and market share and operating profit are also important reference indicators.
